WHY THE DEVIL IS A LIAR

Genesis 3: 1-5

INTRODUCTION:

1-    There are so many titles we’ve heard given the Devil.

2-    Jesus called him a Liar and the Father of lies.

3-    You and I could call him the Shady deal; the Daddy of Deception or the Lying King!

4-    But in the end; he’ll be “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

5-    How many of you have ever been mad at the Devil?

6-    Folks! I’m mad at the Devil today!

7-    And I want you to get just as mad as I am!

8-    And the reason I’m mad is that he is out to destroy every life that he can.

9-    He’s a good for nothing; scum ball of the earth.

 

I DON’T LIKE HIM BECAUSE HE HATES GOD:

1-    In fact the Devil hates anyone who loves God!

2-    It’s not really you he hates; but the Christ that lives within you!

3-    The devil knows that he can’t touch God; so he attacks those closest to God; you & me.

4-    Have you ever given thought to the Devil?

5-    If every thing you ever did; you knew already that it wasn’t going to work!

6-    Wouldn’t you just quit and throw in the towel?

7-    But not the Devil!

 

WHAT DID SATAN TELL GOD ABOUT JOB?

1-    These are my words; Sure he serves you God!

2-    What do you expect? You have a wall of protection around him.

3-    You’ve given him a BIG house; a good family and enough animals to open a zoo.

4-    God, you take down the hedge around him and give me a shot at him.

5-    And I’ll make sure he curses you to your face.

 

YOU SEE! THE DEVIL WANTS YOU TO THINK HE’S ON YOUR SIDE;

1-    Your way is the best way; do what you want to!

2-    You’re an intelligent adult; you’re right; you’re a good person!

3-    He tells you all this to keep you from doing it God’s way.

4-    So if you don’t do it God’s way; you’ve done it Satan’s way;

5-    And He’s gotten the same results and makes you think it was your idea!

6-    Friends the Devil is a Liar!

 

DO YOU KNOW WHY THE DEVIL LIES?

HE LIES TO DISCREDIT GOD:

1-    Did you read the text with me?

2-    What is the Devil up to making such a statement: “You will be like God!”

3-    Beloved; it was a backhanded way to discredit God!

4-    He wants us to think God is not really as good as we think He is.

5-    But He’s a Liar and the Father on a Lie.

 

YOU’LL BE LIKE GOD:

1-    There’s no wrong in wanting to be like God.

2-    That’s the goal of all humanity to be like God.

3-    But Satan is telling her that She would be more like God by defying God’s authority.

4-    He was in essence telling her she could take the place of God in deciding for herself;

5-    That she didn’t need God any longer if she’s just eat of this tree!

 

HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT BECOMING LIKE GOD IS NOT TRYING TO BECOME GOD?

1-    To be like God is to reflect His Characteristics.

2-    To recognize His authority over your life.

3-    Satan is telling Eve here that good can be attained by doing evil.

 

SATAN WAS TELLING EVE; THERE’S A SHORTCUT TO BEING LIKE GOD;

1-    Folk’s You can’t be like God without God’s help;

2-    Sounds like people today, trying to substitute personal goodness for the Cross.

3-    Friends; without God we can never attain personal goodness;

4-    If we could; we wouldn’t need God anyway!

5-    And that’s what the Devil is telling folks today; “You don’t need God”!

6-    Did he not tell Eve; you can do this without God just eat the fruit.

7-    And He’s telling some of you; you don’t need God just be a good person! What a Lie!

8-    Beloved; there’ll be good people in Hell.

9-    Hell will be full of folks intending to do better at a later date.

10-  Paul was told to go his way until another time: “just pushing away the Spirit”!

THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS; NO NOT ONE: Rm. 3: 10

1-    Beloved; let me set the record straight! We do need God;

2-    We need Him more than ever! Amen?

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa. 53: 6

1-    Don’t listen to the Devil’s whisperings today.

2-    Man cannot become like God without God!

3-    We’ve all sinned and come short of the glory of God!

4-    The Devil is a liar and the father of a lie!

 

DON’T LISTEN TO HIM!

1-    He’ll ask you; “Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people”?

2-    Do you see what the Devil’s doing here?

3-    Don’t you see Eve? God is selfish; He didn’t want to share His Knowledge of good & evil.

4-    The Devil made her forget all about what God had given them;

5-    The Devil had her to focus on the things she couldn’t have.

6-    The Devil is out to get you to become disappointed in God!

 

AND DON’T YOU KNOW HE HAS PLENTY OF TOOLS?

          DOUBT: to get you to question God’s Word

                         And His goodness.

          DISCOURAGEMENT: to make you look at              your problems instead of God.

          DIVERSION/ DISTRACTIONS: to make all

                        The wrong things seem right.

          DEFEAT: To make you feel like a failure.

          DELAY: To cause you to believe that God

      Has forgotten you.

1-    Beloved; all these D words are of the Devil.

2-    He’ll ask you at your lowest point in life; “Now! Where’s your God now?”

3-    See there! “Where’s God now”?

 

BELOVED:

1-    God is love!

And His mercy endureth forever, His faithfulness continues to all generations.

1-    Taste and see that the Lord is good!

“You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on you”.

 

BELOVED SOME THINGS THE DEVIL MIGHT CHANGE; BUT HE’LL NEVER CHANGE GOD:

1-    He say’s I am the Lord, I change not!

2-    He’s the same yesterday, today and forever; He loves you!

3-    God is still God; still saving; still healing; Don’t miss out on these blessings:

4-    And quit listening to the Devil; He’s a Liar.

 

AND BELOVED; HE’S GONE TO PREPARE A PERFECT PLACE FOR US; FREE FROM SIN;

HEAVEN SOME CALL IT; I CALL IT HOME!

1-    This is what God intended or us all the while.

2-    And you’d best believe; The Devil will not be allowed in Heaven.

3-    And you can make it your home too!

 

YOU MUST NOT EAT OF THE TREE IN THE MDIST OF THE GARDEN:

1-    God said; you must not touch it; for you will surely die.

2-    And the Devil said; “You shall not surely die”

3-    Beloved; God’s wisdom had never been called into question before:

4-    And the question came to Eve as it does to you and me!

5-    Will I trust God’s wisdom or will I challenge His wisdom and try it “MY WAY?”

6-    Eve was in the WRONG place looking at the WRONG thing, and at the WRONG time.

7-    Beloved; that makes easy prey for the Devil.

 

EVERY HUMAN-KIND ON THE EARTH ARE JUST LIKE EVE:

1-    The closer we all come to the line;(God’s rules) the more we resent them being there.

“Trust in the Lord and lean not to thine own understand”

1-    Friends in this life; God will allow us to cross over His guidelines and go our way.

2-    But, O, the price that we’ll have to pay!

3-    Some things done in this life will haunt you till the day you die!

4-    The Devil’s a Liar; Let God deliver you!

 

SATAN OFFERS YOU POWER; BUT HIS PLANS ARE TO MAKE YOU A SLAVE:

1-    He even offered Jesus the world when it wasn’t his to offer.

 

HIS WHOLE LYING SCHEME IS BUT TO DESTROY YOU:

1-    I’ll make you popular; just drink and dope a little.

2-    I’ll make you successful Just cheat a little.

3-    I’ll have He or she to marry you; just move in for a while.

4-    He’ll offer you the riches of this ole world; but he really plans to make you a pauper.

5-    The Devil is after you saying, “Lets make a Deal”!

But what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul.

1-    Friends in these last days; we all had better think twice about what we’re doing.

2-    For to deal with the Devil is to deal with a Liar in the beginning.

 

O YEAH; THE DEVIL IS SMART:

1-    He won’t hit you in your strong areas of life; but he’ll hit you in your weak area.

2-    He knows about your dreams; your ambitions and your goals.

3-    So he is out to deceive you!

4-    He knows if you’re lonely or depressed.

5-    He knows your level of self-esteem; if you feel ugly or un-important.

6-    He knows if you’re nervous; or worried.

7-    So he just slips right into your life to deceive you at the lowest point.

8-    The Devil will wound you deeply;\

9-    But Jesus has come to heal those wounds.

10- Jesus has come to heal those hurts; and to love you unconditionally.

11- Give your needs to Jesus; Don’t let the Devil rip you off.

 

BELOVED; IF THE ENEMY HITS AMERICA THEY WILL HIT OUR MOST STRATEGIC:

1-    They’ll hit our Military bases and bigger cities.

2-    Because that’s Americas power!

3-    Satan does the same against us; He attacks the mind!

4-    Satan wants control of your mind.

5-    Sin begins as a thought; and what you think about you’ll sooner or later do!

6-    Satan attempts to Bombard our minds with thoughts and images and ideas.

7-    Then firmly planted in the mind; they take root and breed sin.

8-    And when Sin is conceived; it bringeth forth death; spiritual death if you please.

 

BEWARE OF THAT OLD SERPENT; THE DEVIL:

1-    He’ll take every good thing and seek to destroy it.

2-    He’ll wrap you up a good deal in a heartbeat.

3-    But his main goal is to take you to Hell.

4-    He knows what you like; and He’ll take that to push you over the edge.

5-    He’ll disguise your weakest area and offer it to you on a silver platter.

 

JESUS SAID;

The thief cometh not for but to steal, kill and destroy; but I have come that you might have life and that more abundantly.

 

OUT OF DECEPTION AND LIES;

1-    Satan has come to work and to war against every good and perfect gift from God.

2-    And He can do nothing but what we allow him to do.
