SHUT UP DEVIL, GOD’S JUST NOT SHOWED UP YET April 1, 2005Matthew 14: 22- 25INTRODUCTION: 1- Most people have no idea what’s going on while they’re being tried and tempted. 2- At this point there is no knowledge of a real personality, (Satan) being present. 3- It just seems to be the mind wandering; but then you find yourself dwelling on it. 4- Beloved; an idle mind is the Devils workshop. 5- Satan is real! And so are his tactics!
LISTEN TO THE WORD: For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2nd. Cor.11: 14 JAMES 4: 7 SAY’S: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 1St PETER 5: 8 SAY’S: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
SATAN HIMSELF IS TRANSFORMED INTO AN ANGEL OF LIGHT: 1- Transformed meaning to transfigure or disguise or to change self. 2- If Satan had come to Eve in the Garden in his true form; 3- No doubt she’d have screamed and fled the scene. 4- But he came to her as the most subtle beast of the field; very cunning. 5- When he came to Jesus after his baptism; he came as one having respect for God. 6- He even quoted scripture, but not correctly. 7- Notice; he can transform himself as an angel of light. 8- Light is emblem of purity and holiness. 9- Satan takes on the outward appearance of a pure and holy personality. 10- But inwardly he is a deadly deceiver and destroyer.
BELOVED; KNOWING ALL THIS: 1- We should better be able to defend our very soul against such an enemy. 2- He may appear as an angel of light or a roaring lion or whatever; 3- And though he is powerful, and capable of appearing in various forms. 4- He never shows himself as the wicked one, abominable, full of murder, evil and lies.
IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE THERE’S A DEVIL OUT THERE: 1- Try serving God for one day and you’ll change your mind. 2- The devil is after God’s people, 3- O’ he likes you; but hates the Christ within you. 4- And he’ll never give up; even sickness and suffering came because of the devil & sin. Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to sift you; but I have prayed for you! 1- Our enemy tried to stop Paul. But he never succeeded. 2- There’ll always be battles with Satan; But put ye on the whole armor of God. 3- Resist the devil; Don’t give in to him.
HE’S ALWAYS TRIED TO MAKE US BELIEVE THAT GOD DOESN’T CARE FOR US: 1- And when he comes with that pack of lies just tell him off. 2- Tell him to “Shut up devil, God just hasn’t showed up”! 3- God is still in control! 4- Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigheth. 5- The devil may be powerful; but God is more powerful. 6- The devil is wise; but God is all-wise. 7- Satan may try to pull you down; but God is able to lift you up. 8- Satan may attempt to tear you apart; but God is able to put you back together again.
CHRISTIANS; SEE IT WITH ME! IN OUR TEXT: Mt. 14: 22-251- John the Baptist has been murdered. 2- But the crowds still follow after Jesus. 3- That led to the feeding of the 5000 and later on to the storm tossed ship. 4- The disciples are very much afraid. 5- Jesus had constrained them to go and encouraged them to go on before Him. 6- He’s not with them in this time of the storm. 7- The devil sets on Peter’s shoulder and ask, 8- “Where’s Jesus now when you need him! 9- In my mind I can hear Peter say: “Shut Up Devil, God’s just not showed up yet”! 10- And immediately He shows up, walking on the water. 11- Peter asks the Lord; to bid him come to him walking on the water. 12- Jesus say’s “COME” 13- All things work out when you can tell the devil what to do! Namely! “Shut Up” 14- Somebody, Go & Get God! Amen?
GOD ALWAYS SHOW’S UP, JUST IN TIME! 1- Let’s look at Moses for a little while! 2- The Children of Israel were in bondage, slaves to Pharaoh. 3- And we’ll never understand the why’s that it took Moses so long to prepare for the task! 4- But anyway, it all was “on time” with God! 5- Moses went down and said to Pharaoh, “God said, Let My People Go”! 6- And Pharaoh wouldn’t heed the message; so God sent His wrath on Egypt. 7- The water was turned to blood; Frogs filled the land even their houses. 8- Lice on man and beasts; and then swarms of flies. 9- Grievous murrain, sickness on all their cattle with all cattle dying except the Israelites. 10- Ashes became dust-causing blisters on man and beast. 11- Boils came on all the Egyptians, Pestilence came and. 12- Grievous hail came and Fire ran along the ground. 13- Locust so thick they could not see the earth; thick darkness in all of Egypt. 14- Their firstborn died in every household; none exempted.
AND FINALLY PHARAOH LET GOD’S PEOPLE GO: 1- He let them go; Moses having told them to not leave one hoof behind. 2- Thousands marching out on their way to Canaan’s Fair Land. 3- On their way to the Promised Land with their enemy in Hot Pursuit still. MOSES AND GOD’S CHILDREN REACH THE RED SEA: 1- And there they stand, helpless, and hopeless in front of them the Red Sea. 2- On either side of them were the Mountains. 3- Behind them, Pharaoh and his army. 4- Scared, Afraid, they cried out asking Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die?” 5- Were there no graves in Egypt? 6- There Devil now says to Moses, “Whatcha gonna do now?” 7- I can just hear Moses say; “Shut up Devil, God just hasn’t showed up yet”! 8- But He Did! 9- And they marched over on dry ground; 10-And you know the rest of the story! 11-Their enemy lost their lives; chariots and horsemen were drowned in the Sea. 12-HALLELUJAH!
GOD ALWAYS SHOW’S UP JUST IN TIME! 1- Shut Up Devil; don’t tell me that He doesn’t!
WHEN NEBUCHADNEZZAR MADE AN IMAGE AND SET IT UP IN THE PLAINS OF DURA: 1- The decree went out that everyone should bow down and worship the image. 2- 95 Feet high now bow down and worship! 3- They refused to bow and the Heat was on! 4- You know the story! 5- Heat the furnace 7 times hotter than ever was want before. 6- The king gave the order! “Cast them In” 7- The Devil said; “You ‘All better think about it”, you’re gonna burn up in that furnace! 8- Shut Up Devil! God’s just not showed up yet 9- But He did! Yeah, God showed Up, just in time. 10-And the party started; such dancing with the Lord, you’ll never see till we get there! Hallelujah! 11-God always shows up! 12-Tell the Devil to shut up! & Go Home!
AND DON’T EVER THINK THAT IF YOU ARE IN HIGH PLACES, YOU’RE EXEMPT! 1- Daniel was first of three presidents in the Darius Kingdom. 2- Preferred because he had an excellent spirit. 3- So, the Devil sticks up his head and begins. 4- The try to find fault and the only thing they could find against him was he prayed too much. 5- They signed the decree, No one to be worshipped except the King. 6- Daniel prayed anyway; on and on he prayed. 7- The King said, Daniel! See what your praying got you into? 8- Now pay with your life! 9- Daniel said; “Shut up Devil, God’s just not showed up yet”! 10-But He had! 11-God’s gone before him; touched the lions head, said; 12-One of my servants is coming to spend the night with you! Be nice to him! 13-Let him sleep well, make him comfortable; let him use you for a pillow.
THE DEVIL SAYS AGAIN: 1- Goodbye Daniel, you’re history! 2- Daniel says; “Shut Up Devil” God’s just not showed up yet! 3- But He had! 4- He lay’s himself down and sleeps like a baby all night long.
ALL GOD’S CHILDREN MUST LEARN A LESSON HERE: 1- The Devil is never satisfied with his accusations against God’s children. 2- Because He never quits; never stops
HE WAS THERE WHEN DAVID FOUGHT AGAINST GOLIATH: 1- Even with His brother’s accusation, trying to put out David’s candle.
HE WAS THERE WITH ABRAHAM AND ISAAC: 1- In the trying of Abraham’s faith to please God!
HE WAS THERE WHEN JESUS WAS ON THE CROSS:
BUT IN THE END; HE’LL BE THERE WHEN JESUS TAKES HIM: 1- And cast Him into the bottomless pit! Amen?
TELL THE DEVIL TO SHUT UP; GIVE GOD TIME TO WORK! Amen?
