Psalms 139: 1-3

INTRODUCTION:

1-    How much does God really know about us, His people?

You may not know me, but I know everything about you! Psa. 139: 1

1-    David said: “Thou hast searched me and known me!

“I know when you sit down and when you rise up”

1-        Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising! Thou understandest my thought afar off. Psa. 139: 2

“I am familiar with all your ways”! Is that scary?

1-    Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. Psa. 139: 3

“I have numbered the hairs on your head” Mt. 10: 30

1-    Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

2-    But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

3-    Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

“You were made in My image” Gen. 1: 27

1-    So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created he them.

“In me you live and move and have your being” Acts 17: 28

1-     For in Him we live, and move, and have our being: as certain also of your own poets have said. For we are also his offspring.

“I knew you even before you were conceived” Jer. 1: 4

1-    Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

“I chose you when I planned creation” Eph. 1: 11

1-     In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.

2-     That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

“You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book” Psa 139: 15- 16

1-    My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

2-    Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being un-perfect: and in thy book all my members were written.

“I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live” Acts 17: 26

1-    And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.

“You are fearfully and wonderfully made” Psa. 139: 14

1-       I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works: and that my soul knoweth right well.

“I knit you together in your mothers womb” v.13

1-     For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

“And brought you forth on the day you were born” Psa. 71: 6

1-    By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels; my praise shall be continually of thee.

“Those who know me not, misrepresent me” Jn. 8: 41-44

1-    Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him. We be not born of fornication: we have one Father, even God.

2-    Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

3-    Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word.

4-    Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

“I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love” 1St. Jn. 4: 16

1-      God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

“And it is my desire to lavish my love on you. Simply because you are my child and I am your father”. 1St. Jn. 3: 1

1-    Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

“I offer you more than your earthly father ever could” Mt. 7: 11

1-    If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things t them that ask him?

“For I am the perfect father” Mt. 5: 48

1-     Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father, which is in heaven, is perfect.

“Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand” James 1: 17

1-    Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

“For I am your provider and I meet all your needs” Mt. 6: 31-33

1-    Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or wherewithal shall we be clothed?

2-    For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

3-    But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

“My plan for your future has always been filled with hope” Jer. 29: 11

1-     For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end.

“Because I love you with an everlasting love” Jer. 31: 3

1-    The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.

“My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand of the seashore” Psa. 139: 17- 18

1-    How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them. If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

“And I rejoice over you with singing” Zeph. 3: 17

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty: he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

“I will never stop doing good to you” Jer. 32: 40

1-    And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good: but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

“For you are my treasured possession” Ex. 19: 5

1-    Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.

“I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul” Jer. 32: 41

1-    Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

“And I want to show you great and marvelous things” Jer. 33: 3

1-    Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

“If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me” Deut. 4: 29

1-    But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

“Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart” Psa. 37: 4

1-    Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

“For it is I who gave you those desires” Phil. 2: 13

1-    For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

“I am able to do more for you than you can imagine, for I am your greatest encourager” Eph. 3: 20, 2nd. Thess. 2: 16- 17

1-      Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us,

2-      Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.

3-      Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

“I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles” 2nd. Cor. 1: 3-4

1-     Blessed be God, even the Father of our lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

2-     Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

“When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you” Psa. 34: 18

1-    The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart: and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

“As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart” Isa. 40: 11

1-    He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

“One day, I will wipe away every tear from your eyes and I’ll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth” Rev. 21: 3-4

1-    And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

“I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus” Jn. 17: 23

1-     I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

“For in Jesus, my love for you is revealed” Jn. 17: 26

1-    Jesus said to the Father;

2-    And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them and I in them.

“He, (Jesus) is the exact representation of my being” Heb. 1: 3

1-    Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

“He, (Jesus) came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you” Rm. 8: 31

1-    What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

“And to tell you that I am not counting your sins Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled” 2nd. Cor. 5: 18- 19

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them: and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

“His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you” 1St. Jn. 4: 10

1-    Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

“I gave up that which I loved that I might gain your love” Rm. 8: 31- 32

1-    What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

2-    He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

“If you receive the gift of My Son Jesus, you receive Me” 1St. Jn. 2: 23

1-    Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

“And nothing will ever separate you from my love again” Rm. 8: 38-39

1-    For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“Come home and I’ll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen” Luke 15: 7

1-     I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

2-    Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
