ARE YOU HAPPY?

March 18, 2004

Romans 5: 1- 6

 INTRODUCTION:

1-   Are you happy?

2-   If you aren’t happy, they why not?

3-   Beloved; if you’re one of His; If you belong to Him as one of His.

4-   There are some things I want to say to you.

5-   And if by chance you’re not saved; I want to tell you how you can be Happy today.

6-   Let me tell you one of the main reasons for being happy today:

7-   Believe the whole book; Eat the book; Live by the Book. Amen?

8-   JUSTIFICATION, is about the word of God.

9-   It’s from the Word of God.

10- It’s one of the doctrines of the Pentecostal Holiness churches around the world.

11- It has to do with your being Happy in the Lord.

12- God, give us back our “JOY”, Amen?

13- Forgiveness, removes the guilt of sin.

14- And Justification by Faith lifts the condemnation caused by those sins.

CAN I SHARE WITH US TODAY SOME TREASURES OF SALVATION?

1-   Beloved, Salvation is just the beginning of a great adventure.

2-   Salvation is your new relationship with God who created all things including you and me.

3-   Our Salvation lifts us into a life called the Spiritual dimension.

BORN OF A WOMAN IN THE FLESH:

1-   We had needs of the flesh; Mom & Dad supplied those needs.

2-   They changed our diapers; and helped us to grow up strong in the natural realm.

3-   Now we are “BORN AGAIN”.

4-   And being born again; born of the Spirit, we have Spiritual needs. Amen?

5-   And only God can fill those new needs.

IN THE FIRST 6 VERSES OF ROMANS 5 PAUL LISTS 10 BENEFITS OF OUR SALVATION:

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”.

1-   But Preacher; “Why do I need peace with God?”

2-   We need Peace with God because Verses 8 &10 tells us that we were sinners.

3-   We were enemies of the Lord until we trusted in Jesus as our Christ.

4-   Jesus on His cross took our sins, nailing them to His cross.

5-   And if we are willing to “TRUST” him, God sees us as though we have never sinned.

6-   When we “TRUST” Jesus as our Lord; we find “PEACE” with God! Amen?

NOW HEAR THE REST OF THE STORY:

1-   He pursued us in our sins; to save us from ourselves.

2-   He did all this that we not suffer Eternal separation from Him.

3-   Beloved; God desires us to surrender our will; quit running; quit resisting.

4-   And accept Jesus as the Christ; and bask in the Peace of God that passeth all understanding.

BELOVED; PEACE WITH GOD EQUIPS US WITH AN INDESTRUCTIBLE JOY:

1-   God gives peace regardless of the circumstance.

2-   Now that alone is Spiritual maturity.

3-   The depth of it all allows us to rest in God.

4-   Knowing that He is our good Shepherd.

5-   He is King and very much in control.

BELOVED THE PEACE GIVEN TO US OPENS YET ANOTHER DOOR:

“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God”.

1-   WE have access; Grace; and Rejoicing in Hope.

2-   Access, we’re never out of His reach. Amen?

3-   He’s just a prayer away; and since He abides; it’s always a local phone call.

4-   Never a reason to feel left out or lonely;

5-   The whole family of God surrounds us.

THEN BEING SAVED GIVES US GRACE:

1-   Grace to keep us, Grace allowing us to grow; Grace to recover.

2-   Grace that when we fall or stumble; we still stand in Grace.

THAT’S WHY WE CAN REJOICE IN HOPE:

1-   Joy with me in the hope we have in Christ Jesus.

2-   He is my guarantee that I shall live throughout Eternity.

3-   For in Heaven I shall forever celebrate God for all His greatness. Amen?

THEN HE SAYS; WE WHO LOVE THE LORD CAN REJOICE IN OUR SUFFERINGS:

1-   Brother, Sister it takes a well grounded faith.

2-   To rejoice when the body is hurting.

3-   Rejoice when worry paralyzes your thinking.

4-   Rejoice when the medicine quits working.

5-   When strength fades away.

BUT WE CAN GLORY IN HIM:

1-   For we serve a risen savior.

2-   And He tells us that we will not be tested beyond what we can stand.

3-   Who promises to work everything out for the good of those who love Him.

4-   Who said; Lo, I am with thee even to the end.

5-   All that He has promised us helps us to stand what is to come.

BELOVED; IT IS HE WHO THROUGH MUCH PERSEVERANCE:

1-   Helps us to keep a watchful eye on our future expectations.

2-   Knowing that perseverance leaves us with a proven “CHARACTER”.

WE HAVE HOPE, & CONFIDENCE, THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT:

“And HOPE maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us”. V. 5

1-   Hope maketh not ashamed; Hope never disappoints.

2-   “For whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed”. Rm. 10: 11

3-   Beloved; ye are “JUSTIFIED BY FAITH”.

4-   For “HIS GREAT LOVE” never fails.

DO WE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT FUELS MERCY AND GRACE?

1-   There’s none worthy; no not one!

2-   The Pain He suffered; in agony, abuse and His slow brutal death.

3-   Out of His Great Love; God’s love led Jesus to take on a body of Flesh.

4-   It was out of His great Love that led Jesus to suffer shame and rejection.

5-   To endure beating and sarcasm.

6-   To agonize for 6 hours on the cross.

7-   And to die when His Fathers fellowship was ripped away from Him.

8-   When He cried “Father, why hast thou forsaken me?”

9-   That’s the love that fuels Mercy and Grace.

ALL THE ABOVE BRINGS ME TO THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN US:

1-   The very attribute of JUSTIFICATION:

2-   Beloved; we have within us the full power of the Godhead within us at all times.

3-   He has planted himself; the Holy Spirit within our very souls.

4-   He has created within all who believe a New Spirit.

5-   Now here’s how He did it!

PAUL SAID IN ROMANS 4: 5

1-   That To him that believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly; his faith is counted for righteousness.

2-   Beloved; at the right time; CHRIST DIED for the ungodly.

3-   We at one time were helpless and ungodly; and hopeless.

4-   We all have been a great disappointment to the Lord.

5-   But when the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law. Gal. 4: 4

6-   Notice it was when the fullness of time had come.

7-   Not that he saw something within us that could be developed;

8-   No, No, this about starting all over again.

9-   The birth of Jesus did not offer refurbishing.

10- It offered a New Birth; a New Beginning.

11- This is how it works:

HE BREATHED NEW LIFE INTO AN OLD BODY:

1-   And it wasn’t new life in the flesh;

2-   It was a New Life in the Spirit.

3-   Beloved; this is where Adam started.

4-   But Adam lost it.

5-   In Christ we’re not losers. Amen?

6-   Thank God He didn’t offer probation; but Salvation.

7-   It was at the right time; the fullness of time; Christ died for the ungodly.

8-   He took our place when He went to the cross.

God made him who knew no sin to become sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

1-   Beloved; we are to be just as pure and sinless as God himself to be blessed by him.

2-   We are just and the justified; justified by the justifier.

3-   Beloved; God doomed His Son to a sinful death in our place.

4-   He did it that we might not suffer separation from God eternally.

5-   That’s Grace! Amen?

6-   That’s the way that God did it; He made us acceptable.

7-   The very Holiness of God was stripped from the Son and given to us the ungodly.

GOD HAS GIVEN US HOPE:

1-   And His hope is that we depend entirely upon Him for everything in our lives.

2-   You’re justified; saved by Grace; Trust Him.

3-   Depend upon Him at the breaking of every day.

4-   And at the setting of every sun.

GOD HELP US ALL TO ALWAYS REMEMBER:

1-   We’re not saved to be tossed back into Satan’s world.

2-   Beloved; God will us to live as His very own.

3-   His way is the straight and the narrow.

4-   For it leads us to live eternal.

5-   Live with His resources.

6-   Live with Him within us.

7-   With all the heavenly blessings.

8-   Justified fully as though we’d never sinned!

9-   Happy in the Lord! Amen?
