In the year of 1950, a tent was erected on
the now present site of our church underneath the sycamore trees. The
Reverend M. D. green was to conduct a revival and from that revival came
into existence our church.
Along with Reverend Charlie Talbert, M.D.
Greene and J. E. Stevens, military barracks were purchased from
Fort Bragg and placed on their property on Hwy. 211 East of Aberdeen and
remained until 1958.
1958 was promising and the Reverend C.D.
Polston built the two story structure on the site of the military barracks
and church continued.
Reverend Polston was responsible for bringing
the congregation into the North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal
Holiness Churches.
1972 brought the Reverend Horace E. Warwick
with his family on the scene with a vision & a love for Aberdeen.
Ground was broken in 1978 and construction
began, to be completed in April, 1979.
Board members having party in the formulating
of plans and construction were Walter F. “Sonny” Tyndall, Eugene Ussery,
Blackmon Tew and Jimmy Thompson.
The Aberdeen First Pentecostal
Holiness Church serves the Sandhills of North Carolina community with
great pride in their message to the world.
